Architect Atlas is a map of architecturally significant buildings. You can explore it without an account. This page explains what we collect when you do create one, and how advertising on the site works.
If you create an account
- We store your email address, your username, and, if you add one, your profile photo.
- If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile photo with us. We never see your Google password.
- We store the lists you make, the comments you post, and the edits you suggest. Your username and photo appear beside your comments; your lists are private to you.
- Passwords are handled by our account provider, Supabase, and are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form.
What we don't do
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it except with the services that run the site: Supabase (accounts and data), Porkbun (web hosting), and Google (sign-in and advertising).
Advertising and cookies
The site shows ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalized ads in Google's Ads Settings, and learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
The site also keeps a small amount of information in your browser so you stay signed in.
Map and photos
Map tiles come from OpenFreeMap, and building photos and facts come from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. Your browser contacts those services directly to load them.
