Zubizuri, or the Campo Volantín Bridge, in Bilbao was designed by Santiago Calatrava for the City of Bilbao and opened in 1997. The infobox and text agree on the date, and no construction start is given. It is a tied-arch footbridge, painted white, with a curved walkway hung by steel cables from an overhead arch.
The steel structure has a deck of translucent glass bricks. It crosses the Nervión River between Campo Volantín and Uribitarte, near the Guggenheim Museum, with ramps and stairways on both banks. The article gives no span length.
Critics have called the glass floor slippery in wet weather, and repair costs are disputed. In 2006 the city allowed Arata Isozaki to build a footway linking the bridge to the Isozaki Atea site. Calatrava sued over moral rights, and a higher court awarded him 30,000 euros in 2009. The article gives no hours.
