The Wisconsin State Capitol in Madison was designed by George B. Post & Sons of New York, with the infobox adding George B. Post and William Stone Post. The cornerstone was laid on August 20, 1907, and it was completed in 1917, funded by the state legislature.
The infobox gives Beaux-Arts, a label the text does not use. The exterior is Bethel white granite from Vermont, and the interior uses 43 types of marble, granite and limestone. It is 284 feet 5 inches (86.7 m) from the ground floor to the top of the statue, and the surrounding columns are 187 feet (57 m).
The granite dome carries Daniel Chester French's statue Wisconsin of 1920, 15 feet 5 inches (4.7 m) tall, in hollow bronze with gold leaf. A 1904 fire gutted all but the north wing, leading to this building. It houses both legislative chambers and the Supreme Court.
