Westendstraße 1 is a 53-story skyscraper in Frankfurt, Germany, designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, with William Pedersen credited for the design. Construction began in 1990 and it opened in 1993 at a cost of US$400 million. It rises 682 feet (208 m), with three of its floors below ground, and holds about 868,600 square feet (80,700 m²).
The building is reinforced concrete with perforated facades and flat slabs, clad in fine golden granite. A steel ring-beam crown weighing 95 tonnes is heated in winter to prevent icicles. It inspired the Moshe Aviv Tower in Ramat Gan, Israel.
With the City-Haus, it forms the headquarters of DZ Bank. It won the Best Building of the Year award in 1995 in the multifunctional skyscraper category. Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen's sculpture Inverted Collar and Tie stands in front of the entrance.
