Wat Arun is a Buddhist temple on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok's Thonburi. The infobox says it was founded before 1656 and its main prang was built in 1851, while the text says the prang was built in the early 19th century and completed in 1851 after nine years of construction. No architect is named.

The article describes a blend of Indian, Chinese, Hindu, Buddhist and Siamese influences, with a Khmer-style central tower. The central prang is given as between 66.8 and 86 meters (219 to 282 ft) high, depending on the source, and is encrusted with porcelain. Four smaller prangs surround it.

The temple was once called Wat Bang Makok, and Taksin renamed it Wat Chaeng. A 2013 to 2017 prang restoration drew criticism for its whitened look. Foreign visitors paid 200 baht in March 2024, and a ferry from Maharaj pier crosses the river.
