Washington National Cathedral on Mount Saint Alban was designed by George Frederick Bodley as the master plan, then Henry Vaughan, and later Philip Hubert Frohman. The Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation, chartered by Congress on January 6, 1893, is the client. The foundation stone was laid on September 29, 1907, and construction finished on September 29, 1990.

The article calls it neo-Gothic, modeled closely on late fourteenth-century English Gothic. It is Indiana limestone over a masonry core. The infobox gives a length of 518 feet (158 m), a width of 158 feet (48 m) and a height of 150 feet (46 m). The text gives the Gloria in Excelsis Tower as 301 feet (92 m) above ground.

It is the seat of the Washington bishop and the Presiding Bishop and draws over 270,000 visitors a year. Tourist admission has cost 10 dollars since January 2014.
