Villa Mairea in Noormarkku, Pori, was designed by Aino and Alvar Aalto for Harry and Maire Gullichsen of the Ahlström family. Design began in late 1937, and construction started in summer 1938, with the text giving 1938 to 1939. The style is Modernist, with curved, organic forms and an L-shaped plan.
Materials include wood, stone, brick, leather, bast, bamboo, rattan and steel columns, with one concrete column in the library. The reception rooms fill a square space 46 feet (14 m) across, and the dining room is a double square. Other features include a curved pool, a sauna, a winter garden, a serpentine wall, a Calder mobile and Moroccan carpets.
Artek produced the Lounge Chair 506 Mairea. The infobox lists UNESCO inscription in 2026 as part of the Aalto Works. The article does not state current use or access, and refers to the Villa Mairea Foundation.
