Villa della Regina in Turin was commissioned by Prince-Cardinal Maurice of Savoy. Ascanio Vitozzi designed the original structure in early 1615 and died that year, and Carlo and Amedeo di Castellamonte took over. The text gives no completion date, saying only that it was built in the 17th century. It names no style.
Filippo Juvarra refurbished the house and gardens for Anne Marie d'Orléans, and his pupil Giovanni Pietro Baroni finished the work from the 1730s. The villa has frescoed ceilings with quadratura, chinoiserie cabinets in lacquer and gilded wood, and a park pavilion called the Solinghi pagoda.
The villa took its name in 1720. Victor Emmanuel II donated it in 1868 to the Institute of the Army's Daughters, and it passed to the State in 1994. It is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is open to the public to fund maintenance. The article gives no hours.
