The Viking Ship Museum on Bygdøy in Oslo was designed by Arnstein Arneberg, who won the architectural contest for the original building. The University of Oslo owns it as part of the Museum of Cultural History, and the Parliament of Norway funded the Oseberg hall. The Oseberg hall was built and its ship moved in 1926. The Gokstad and Tune halls were completed in 1932, and the last hall was finished in 1957, delayed partly by World War II.

The article names no style, materials or dimensions.

A 2000 proposal to move the ships to Bjørvika was debated. Statsbygg ran the 2015 expansion competition, and AART Architects of Denmark won the 2016 competition with a proposal titled NAUST. The museum has been temporarily closed since September 2021, until 2027. It houses three Viking-age ships, Oseberg, Gokstad and Tune, and related grave goods. The article gives no hours or ticket details.
