Veliki Tabor is a fortified castle in Croatia, on a hill 1,096 feet (334 m) above sea level. The oldest part was built in the mid-15th century, and its present appearance dates to the 16th century. The Hungarian noble Ráttkay family built most of it and owned it until 1793. The article names no architect. The infobox lists a late Gothic Renaissance style.
A pentagonal central castle in Late Gothic style has four semicircular Renaissance towers joined by curtain walls, with a Renaissance bastion. An outer defense wall runs about 738 feet (225 m) east to west, and the central castle covers about 36,000 square feet (3,340 m²).
The state owns it and runs it as a museum and tourist site, and a short film festival has run there since 2002. A legend says Veronika was accused of witchcraft and drowned on Hermann II's orders, which the article leaves uncited. The castle was renovated from 2008 to 2011.
