Valencia Cathedral was ordered by Bishop Andreu d'Albalat on the site of the former mosque. Arnau Vidal made the original plans, Francesc Baldomar and Pere Compte the 1459 expansion, Konrad Rudolf the 1703 main door and Antoni Gilabert Fornés the neoclassical remodel. The infobox gives groundbreaking on June 22, 1262, while the lead says consecration was in 1238 and the text says construction began around 1270 to 1300.

The article calls it mainly Valencian Gothic, with Romanesque, French Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical elements. It uses local stone from Burjassot and Godella. It is about 308 feet (94 m) long and 176 feet (53.65 m) wide.

The neoclassical remodel began in 1774, and landmark status came in 1931. The Civil War caused fire damage, and most Neoclassical elements were removed in 1972. It is an active cathedral and minor basilica holding a purported Holy Chalice. The article gives no hours.
