The URBN Center stands at 3501 Market Street in Philadelphia, where Drexel University converted an existing building into a home for its Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts and Design. The original building, once the Institute for Scientific Information, was designed by Venturi Scott Brown and Associates. Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle of Minneapolis led the conversion and left the colorful mosaic facade alone.

The center holds 140,000 square feet (about 13,000 square meters) and houses 12 of the college's 22 academic programs, including architecture. Its facilities include a music recording studio, a video game design lab, a fashion research lab, a broadcast facility, a black box theater and the Pearlstein Gallery.

Drexel trustee Richard A. Hayne, chief executive of Urban Outfitters, gave $25 million toward buying the building, and the university raised $47 million for construction. Drexel held its grand opening on April 12, 2013.
