Urania in Vienna was designed by Max Fabiani, a student of Otto Wagner. The article names no client. The text says it was built in 1909 and opened in 1910 under Franz Joseph I, and the infobox gives 1910 as established. It stands at the outlet of the Wien River.

The article calls the style Art Nouveau and names no materials or dimensions. World War II severely damaged it and destroyed the dome and observatory. It reopened in 1957 after reconstruction, and the observatory has been technically upgraded over the years.

It is described as the oldest public observatory in Austria. It also has seminar rooms, a movie theater that screens at the Viennale, a puppet theater created by the actor Hans Kraus, a Kindertransport memorial room and a restaurant. The article gives no hours.
