Trøndelag Teater is a large theater in Trondheim, in Trøndelag county, Norway, that stages large-scale dance and musical performances. It was built in 1816 and is the oldest stage in Scandinavia in continuous use. Early on it hosted a local amateur theater and touring Danish companies.
From 1861 to 1865 it housed the city's first permanent Norwegian-language theater, the Throndhjems Theater. A permanent theater was established in 1911 on the initiative of Sverre Brandt and closed in 1926.
After refurbishment, the theater reopened in September 1997 as a complex with four new stages alongside the old auditorium. Its five stages include the Main Stage for large productions and the Studio Stage for experimental drama.
