Tønsberg Cathedral in Norway was designed by Christian Heinrich Grosch, with Paul Thrane directing construction. The article names no client. The town decided to build one new church on the site of the old St. Laurentius church. The site was cleared in autumn 1855, the granite foundation was laid in spring 1856 and the church was consecrated on December 19, 1858.
It is a long church of brown brick in Brick Gothic style, with room for about 500 people. Inside are carved figures of the four Evangelists, a Baroque altar carved by Jens Jølsen in 1764 and a pulpit from 1621.
The medieval stone basilica of St. Laurentius was demolished from 1810 to 1814. Arnstein Arneberg led a restoration in 1939, and the church became a cathedral on June 20, 1948. The infobox gives an 11th-century founding date, which does not fit the stone church. The article gives no hours.
