The Tomb of Hafez in Shiraz was designed in its present form by the French architect and archaeologist André Godard, with Ali Sami Shirazi supervising construction. The Ministry of Education commissioned the 1935 building. Timurid governor Abul-Qasim Babur Mirza ordered the 1452 memorial. The infobox gives 1452 and 1935. The text also dates the present building to 1935 but says construction ran from 1938 to 1940, which conflicts.
The article describes a round, domed tomb-tower design drawing on traditional Iranian garden tombs and Zand architecture. It has a marble tomb slab, a copper dome, Moaraq tiles, stone columns and an arabesque mosaic ceiling. Eight columns are 33 feet (10 m) tall.
Restorations came in 1857 and 1878. A Parsi-funded shrine was destroyed in 1899. It is a tourist hub with gardens and a tea house. The article gives no hours.
