Tokyo Midtown at 9 Akasaka in Minato was designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, with Nikken Sekkei as architect of record. Mitsui Fudosan developed and owns it. Groundbreaking was on May 18, 2004, and it opened on March 30, 2007 at a cost of 370 billion yen. The article names no style.

The Midtown Tower is 248 meters tall, and the complex totals 569,000 square meters, with 330,000 of office space. Kengo Kuma designed the Suntory Museum of Art, and Tadao Ando designed 21_21 Design Sight, which has a split-level concrete structure and a hand-sanded steel roof.

The Ritz-Carlton has 250 rooms on floors 47 to 53. A 40,000 square meter park, Hinokicho Park, surrounds the buildings.
