The Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium in Sendagaya, Shibuya, is owned by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. The first gymnasium broke ground in 1952 and opened in 1954. Fumihiko Maki rebuilt it from 1986 to 1990. The article calls the design futuristic and gives no materials.

The main arena holds 10,000 people, with 6,000 fixed seats. The sub-arena has an Olympic-size pool of 50 by 20 meters with seating for 900, a second pool and an outdoor running track. It hosted gymnastics at the 1964 Olympics and table tennis at the 2020 Games. In November 1990, it held the first two NBA regular-season games played in Japan.

Since April 2006, a group including the Tokyo Lifelong Learning and Culture Foundation has managed it. In 2006, a two-hour pool visit cost 600 yen. The article gives no opening hours.
