Tjolöholm Castle in Halland was designed by Lars Israel Wahlman, and construction ran from 1898 to 1904. James Fredrik Dickson bought the estate in 1892 and died in 1898, the year work began, and the text does not say who commissioned the building. The style is Tudor-inspired.
It stands on a peninsula in Kungsbacka Fjord on the Kattegat coast. The article gives no materials, dimensions or floor count. Dickson's daughter Blanche Bonde inherited the estate, and the city of Gothenburg bought it in 1964. Kungsbacka Municipality and a foundation bought it in 1987, and Stiftelsen Tjolöholm has run it since 1991.
A renovation from 1968 to 1973 opened parts of the castle to visitors in 1971. The estate offers guided tours, a hotel, a restaurant and a café. The manor house is open daily in summer and on weekends the rest of the year. The article gives no exact hours.
