The Theatine Church in Munich was designed by Agostino Barelli, who left in 1674. Enrico Zuccalli added the towers and dome, Giovanni Viscardi managed construction from 1692, and François de Cuvilliés the Elder and Younger completed the Rococo facade. Elector Ferdinand Maria and Henriette Adelaide of Savoy commissioned it in thanks for the 1662 birth of their heir Max Emanuel. The infobox gives 1663 to 1688, with towers from 1676 to 1690 and the facade from 1765 to 1768. The text gives 1663 to 1690, with towers from 1684 to 1692. It was consecrated in 1675.

The article calls the style Italian High Baroque with a Rococo facade. The church is 236 feet (72 m) long and 51 feet (15.5 m) wide.

It was severely damaged in 1944 and 1945, rebuilt by about 1955 and renovated from 2001 to 2019. The Dominicans administer it. The article gives no hours.
