The Teatre Nacional de Catalunya is a public theater at Plaça de les Arts 1 in Barcelona, opposite L'Auditori. The Culture Department of the Catalan Government created it to promote theater and dance in the Catalan language. Ricardo Bofill, a postmodern architect, designed it to resemble an ancient Greek temple.

Construction ran from November 8, 1991, to 1996, and critics were divided; some called it a "parody." It opened on November 12, 1996, with Tony Kushner's Angels in America.

It has three halls: the Sala Gran with 866 seats, the Sala Petita, and the Sala Tallers. Today it mixes Catalan classics with international works under the artistic director Carme Portaceli, who has held the post since 2021.
