The Taza Pir Mosque in Baku was financed by the philanthropist Nabat Khanum Ashurbeyova. Eugeniusz Skibiński completed it, and Zivar bey Ahmedbayov designed the interior. Construction began in 1905 and took more than nine years because of financial and political problems, so it was finished by 1914. The infobox gives the style as Islamic and Shirvan. It stands on the site of a 14th- or 15th-century tomb of the scholar Abu Seyid Abdulla.
It was the first religious building in Baku to use white stone. It also has marble, gold-topped minarets and Quranic calligraphy. The mosque holds 720 worshippers in 15,000 square feet (1,400 m²).
It closed in 1917 after the October Revolution and served as a cinema and a barn. It reopened as a mosque in 1943 and was renovated between 2006 and 2009.
