Tampere Hall stands at the southern edge of Sorsapuisto in central Tampere. Sakari Aartelo and Esa Piironen designed it for the City of Tampere, with A. Puolimatka and YIT as main contractors. It was completed and opened on September 29, 1990. The article lists the style as postmodernism and gives no materials.

It has 31,718 square meters of floor area, and the main auditorium seats 1,756. It is the largest congress center in the Nordic countries.

It is the home of the Tampere Opera and the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Moomin Museum moved in during 2017. It stands opposite the University of Tampere main building, with the railway station about half a kilometer away.
