The Tama Art University Library at the Hachioji campus in Tokyo was designed by Toyo Ito and Associates. Construction took three years, and the library opened in 2007. The article names no client or style. The university, a private institution, operates it.

The building has two stories plus a basement, with a total floor area of 5,639 square meters (60,700 sq ft). Steel plate reinforced with concrete forms arches spanning more than 40 feet (12 m), with 200-millimeter walls. The ground floor slopes gently at three degrees, and glass walls surround colonnades. Furniture by Kazuko Fujie was designed for the sloped floors.

Open shelves hold about 100,000 books, and an open area invites visitors to sit or sleep. The old library had 38,000 visitors in 2006, and the new one had 86,000 in 2012. The article gives no hours.
