Sydney Tower was designed by Donald Crone, with AMP as developer and Concrete Constructions as main contractor. The infobox and text agree that the office building began in 1970 and the tower in 1975. It was completed in 1981 and opened to the public on September 25, 1981. The cost was 36 million Australian dollars.
The article names no style or materials. The spire is 1,014 feet (309 m) tall, and a 1998 lightning rod raised it from 305 m. The observation deck is at 250 m and the Skywalk at 268 m, with four floors and three lifts. The design had to respect a 279 m height limit.
Westfield took over the shopping center in December 2001 and renamed it Sydney Tower. The Skywalk opened in 2005. Two deaths in 2018 led to a Skywalk closure and safety upgrades. Skywalk access requires a booked tour. The article gives no hours.
