Bonnie Bolding Swearingen Hall is part of Samford University's fine arts complex at 800 Lakeshore Drive. The university named it in 2007 for Bonnie Bolding Swearingen, an alumna and benefactor. It holds classrooms, offices and studios for the theatre, dance, music and art departments.
The Ben F. Harrison Theatre, which opened in 1976 and was renovated in summer 2021, has a 33-foot (10-meter) revolve and one of the largest scene paint decks in the state. The Samford Art Gallery shows work by students, faculty, alumni and guest artists and is free on weekdays. Bolding Studio is an intimate space for musicals, plays, recitals and lectures.
The top floor holds the Department of Architecture and Interior Design, with offices, a design studio, a project review area and a conference room. The university's venues page gives no construction date, size or architect for the building.
