State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona was designed by Eisenman Architects and HOK Sport, now Populous. The Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority oversaw construction and owns it, and Legends Global operates it. Groundbreaking was April 12, 2003, and it opened August 1, 2006. The cost was $455 million. The article calls it an architectural icon for the region but names no style.
It is the first retractable-roof stadium built on an incline. A translucent Birdair fabric roof opens in 12 minutes, and a natural grass field rolls in on a tray. Base capacity is 63,400, expandable to 72,200, with 88 luxury lofts.
The stadium was first Cardinals Stadium, then University of Phoenix Stadium. State Farm has held the naming rights since 2018. The article gives no ticket prices.
