St Volodymyr's Cathedral in Kyiv was given its final design by Alexander Vikentievich Beretti, after earlier drafts by I. Schtrom, P. Sparro, R. Bemhardt, K. Mayevsky and V. Nikolayev. The article names no client. Metropolitan Philaret of Moscow proposed it in 1852, and donations came from across the Russian Empire. The infobox gives 1862 to 1882, while the text says it was completed in 1882 and the paintings were finished only in 1896.
The article calls the style Neo-Byzantine. It is brick with a Carrara marble iconostasis. It has seven domes, and the main dome rises 161 feet (49 m) to its cross.
It was at risk in the 1920 Polish-Soviet War and nearly demolished under the Soviets, but became a museum of religion and atheism until World War II. An Orthodox revival came in 1988. It has belonged to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine since December 2018. The article gives no hours.
