St Philip's Cathedral in Birmingham was designed by Thomas Archer. The article names no client, but Robert Philips donated the land in 1710 and the church was dedicated to St Philip in tribute. The infobox gives 1710 to 1725. The text says construction began in 1711, the church was ready for consecration in 1715 and the tower was complete by 1725.
The article calls the style Baroque, influenced by Borromini and more Italianate than Wren's churches. It is brick faced with stone from Archer's Umberslade estate, and J. A. Chatwin later refaced the exterior because the stone was soft. It gives no dimensions. It cost 5,012 pounds against an estimate of 20,000.
It became a cathedral in 1905 and was bombed and gutted on November 7, 1940, with its Burne-Jones windows already removed and restored in 1948. It is Grade I listed and the seat of the Bishop of Birmingham. The article gives no hours.
