The Sri Lankan Parliament Building in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, about 16 km east of Colombo, was designed by Geoffrey Bawa for the Government of Sri Lanka. Parliament approved the project in 1979, and it was completed within a 26-month schedule. President J. R. Jayewardene opened it on April 29, 1982. The article describes the style as regional modernism drawing on Sri Lankan vernacular architecture. It names no materials.

The complex sits on an island in the Diyawanna Oya that covers about five hectares (12 acres). Its symmetry contrasts with the organic shape of the lake.

The project cost over US$25.4 million. The article gives no building dimensions, hours or visitor access, and it does not say whether the public may tour the complex.
