The Center Potsdamer Platz, formerly the Sony Center, sits on Potsdamer Platz in Berlin and took its new name in March 2023. Helmut Jahn of Murphy/Jahn designed it, with Peter Walker as landscape architect. Sony bought the site in 1992 and placed its German headquarters there. Construction ran from 1995 to 1998, and the complex opened on June 14, 2000. It cost about 750 million euros.

The site covers 30,000 square meters and holds eight buildings. A vaulted roof of about 4,000 square meters, made of steel, glass and translucent fabric, covers the central Forum. A cone-shaped opening crowns it. Jahn wanted light that was luminous, not illuminated. Ove Arup was the structural engineer.

The complex mixes shops, restaurants, a hotel, a conference center, offices and about 67 residential units. It also holds a Legoland Discovery Centre. The cinemas closed in 2019.
