The stadium holds 60,334 and has a grass playing surface. The complex also has the Shenzhen Dayun Arena for 18,000, an aquatic center for 3,000 and a cricket venue for 5,000.

It hosted events at the 2011 Summer Universiade and a 2018 NHL pre-season game between the Flames and the Bruins. Shenzhen F.C. and Shenzhen Leopards played here until 2023.
