The Senedd building in Cardiff Bay was designed by the Richard Rogers Partnership, with BDSP Partnership handling environmental and services design. Taylor Woodrow built it. Queen Elizabeth II opened it on March 1, 2006, St David's Day, and the article gives its cost as £67 million. It names no owner and no style, saying only that the design rests on openness and transparency.
The materials include slate and Welsh oak, with a timber ceiling and central funnel in Canadian Western Red Cedar. A roof wind cowl brings light and air into the chamber. Rainwater is collected for flushing and window cleaning, and an Earth Heat Exchange system heats the building.
It houses the debating chamber, or Siambr, and committee rooms. The article gives no dimensions or hours. Proceedings are streamed on Senedd.tv.
