Schwerin Cathedral has no named architect in the article. The Bishopric of the Abodrites, moved to Schwerin from Mecklenburg, was the client. The foundation was laid in 1172 and the cathedral was consecrated in 1248. The nave and transept were completed in the 14th century, the north cloister in the late 15th century and the tower from 1889 to 1893. The infobox gives no dates.

The article calls the style Brick Gothic, and the first cathedral was timber. The tower is 385 feet (117.5 m) tall, the tallest church spire in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

A Holy Blood relic brought back in 1222 made it a pilgrimage site. In 1524 it passed from the Catholic Church to the Lutherans. It is an active Lutheran cathedral and the seat of the Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mecklenburg. The article gives no hours.
