Santa Maria in Vallicella, known as the Chiesa Nuova, is the main church of the Oratorians in Rome. Pope Gregory XIII gave the group the church in 1575, and rebuilding began that year. Matteo di Città di Castello was the first architect, replaced by Martino Longhi the Elder, and Fausto Rughesi designed the travertine facade, finished in 1605 or 1606.

The nave was completed in 1577 and the church consecrated in 1599. The infobox lists Baroque, and the text describes a Counter-Reformation plan modeled on the Gesù, with a single nave, transepts and side chapels. The dome has no drum. Saint Philip Neri wanted whitewashed walls, but patrons later filled the interior with art.

The sacristy was begun in 1621 to plans by Mario Arconio and completed by Paolo Maruscelli in 1629. Francesco Borromini designed the adjacent Oratorio dei Filippini, with a brick facade that contrasts with the church. The article gives no dimensions or access details.
