The Basilica of San Pietro in Ciel d'Oro in Pavia is a Romanesque church consecrated by Pope Innocent II in 1132. A church of St. Peter is recorded there in 604, and Liutprand, King of the Lombards, renovated it between 720 and 725. The article names no architect, and the infobox gives completion as 720 to 725, which conflicts with the text.
The exterior is brick with sandstone quoins and window frames, and the portal is sandstone and marble. The plan has three naves, a transept, an apse and a crypt, in five spans, with rib vaults over spans two to five. The facade is divided into three zones by two buttresses.
The gold-leaf mosaic ceiling in the apse gives the church its name. It holds the Ark of Sant'Agostino, a Gothic marble tomb with more than 150 statues, and Boethius's tomb is in the crypt. Augustinian friars returned in 1896.
