Saint-Malo Cathedral was built during the episcopacy of Jean de Châtillon from 1146 to 1163, which produced the nave and transept crossing. Work continued for centuries: the choir in the 13th century, the tower from the 12th century to 1422, the north side in 1583 to 1607 and the facade in 1772 and 1773. The article names no client.
The style is Romanesque and Gothic on a Latin cross plan, with Gothic ribbed vaulting in the choir and south aisle and groin vaulting in the north aisle. Max Ingrand made many nave windows, and Raymond Cornon designed the 1968 Great Rose window. The infobox gives completion in the 12th century, which the later work contradicts.
A church stood here from the 7th century. Shelling in August 1944 toppled the steeple, and Cornon and Pierre Prunet led the restoration, finished on May 21, 1972. It is a national monument. The article gives no hours.
