SAAL Bouça is a social housing complex in Porto, Portugal, designed by Álvaro Siza with Francisco Guedes de Carvalho and António Madureira. It was one of two commissions Siza won from SAAL, the government rehousing program set up after the 1974 revolution. The land adjoins the Boavista district, west of the city center.
The complex has 128 dwellings, built in two phases: the first in the late 1970s and the second in the mid-2000s. The homes are four-story stacked maisonettes arranged in linear rows perpendicular to the main road into the center. The rows frame gardens, semi-public spaces and a central communal patio of hard clay.
A laundry room, a social center and the residents' association headquarters stand at the end facing the city. At the back, a concrete wall as high as the housing, with a connecting gallery, reduces noise from the adjacent railway. The second phase kept the original project almost intact.
