Rotterdam Centraal station was rebuilt by Team CS, a cooperative of Benthem Crouwel Architekten, MVSA Meyer & Van Schooten Architects and West 8. ProRail, NS and the Municipality of Rotterdam awarded the contract in June 2004. Reconstruction began in 2004, and the new passenger tunnel opened in November 2012. The infobox and text agree that the building reopened on March 13, 2014.

A reference headline describes a pointed, metal-clad entrance, and the article gives no other materials or style. The new passenger tunnel is six times larger than the previous one. The station has 13 platform tracks, 97 car parking spaces and underground bicycle parking for over 5,000 bicycles.

Eurostar security modifications were finished in March 2018. The station serves NS, Eurostar and European Sleeper trains, metro lines D and E and several tram lines, and its concourse has shops and food outlets. The article gives no hours.
