The Queen Victoria Building in Sydney was designed by George McRae, with George Massey as structural engineer, for the City of Sydney council. The infobox mistakenly renders the architect's name. The foundation stone was laid in December 1893 and it opened on July 21, 1898, which the infobox and text agree on.

The article calls the style Romanesque Revival with Richardsonian influence. The building is 98 feet (30 m) wide and 623 feet (190 m) long, with a central dome 62 feet (19 m) across and 197 feet (60 m) high. Walls are sandstone-clad with brick, concrete and a steel roof. The text describes copper-sheathed domes, but a later passage says the cupolas are fibreglass painted to look like copper.

The markets moved to Haymarket in 1910. Restoration as a retail center ran from 1984 to 1986. It was listed on the NSW State Heritage Register in 2010. The article gives no hours.
