The Power Station of Art at 678 Miaojiang Road in Shanghai occupies a former power plant, established in 1897, whose main body was finished in 1985. The plant ceased operation in 2007. TJAD Original Design Studio led the renovation, designed from March 2011 to March 2012, and it opened on October 1, 2012. The article gives no style. The renovation cost about 64 million dollars.

The building has over 41,000 square meters, with 15,000 of exhibition space. It kept the plant's chimney, rooftop generators and general layout.

It is a public institution with free public exhibitions. It has hosted the Shanghai Biennale since 2012, and received Shanghai Municipal Heritage Architecture recognition on August 17, 2015.
