The Petersen Automotive Museum at 6060 Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles occupies a building that opened in 1962 as a department store designed by Welton Becket. It served as a Seibu branch and then as Ohrbach's from 1965 to 1986. The museum was founded by Robert E. and Margie Petersen and established on June 11, 1994. It reopened on December 7, 2015, after a $125 million renovation. The article names no style.

Kohn Pedersen Fox redesigned the facade as a ribbon of stainless steel. It uses 100 tons of steel in 308 sections, held by 140,000 custom screws. The Scenic Route configured the interiors.

Three themed floors cover art, engineering and Southern California car culture across 25 galleries. A vault holds the other half of the collection. Notable vehicles include the 1989 Batmobile. The article gives no hours or fees.
