Perloff Hall stands at 365 Portola Plaza on the UCLA campus in Westwood, Los Angeles. It houses the university's Department of Architecture and Urban Design. The sources name no architect and give no construction year.
The building honors Harvey S. Perloff, who lived from 1915 to 1984. He was dean of the former Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Planning and a noted scholar of regional economics. A colleague credited him with introducing planning specializations in social and environmental policy.
In 1986, students built a raised platform on the roof to test solar panels, part of Baruch Givoni's Lab for Study of Passive Solar Energy Models. A courtyard, Perloff Courtyard, serves the department. After 1994 its exhibition program grew beyond the building into the wider community.
