The Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts owns and operates a campus of 24 historic structures and gardens. Moshe Safdie designed the new wing for a $100 million renovation and expansion completed in 2003, which more than doubled gallery space to 250,000 square feet (23,000 m2). The article names no style or materials.

Ennead Architects, after Rick Mather's death in 2012, designed a 40,000-square-foot (3,700 m2) wing that opened on September 28, 2019. It has 15,000 square feet of galleries and a 5,000-square-foot garden by Nelson Byrd Woltz.

Features include East India Marine Hall, a National Historic Landmark, and Yin Yu Tang House, a reconstructed early 19th-century Chinese house from Anhui Province. The Herwitz Gallery, opened in 2003, focuses on modern Indian art. The article gives no hours or admission.
