The Paul B. Sogg Architecture Building stands near the intersection of Brussels Road and Tropicana Avenue on the south side of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus. Swisher & Hall AIA Ltd. designed it and Tibesar Construction built it. The university dedicated it on October 23, 1997, during Architecture Week in Nevada.
The cost was $8.25 million. The Nevada State Legislature approved funding in 1990, and private donors paid much of the total. Paul B. Sogg, a Las Vegas real estate developer, gave a significant portion but had died by the dedication. Johnny A. Ribeiro Jr. gave nearly $500,000 for landscape architecture.
The design uses exposed concrete masonry walls and a glazed curtain wall. Metal roofs and sunshades form overhangs at entries and courtyards. The building holds classrooms, studios, a library and offices for architecture, landscape architecture, interior design and urban planning.
