The Parliament House in Helsinki was designed by Johan Sigfrid Sirén. The 1924 competition was won by the firm Borg–Sirén–Åberg. The Finnish Government is the client and owner. The infobox and text agree on construction from 1926 to 1931, with the opening on March 7, 1931.
The article calls the style Stripped Classicism, or Nordic Classicism. It uses red Kalvola granite for the Corinthian capitals, a white marble staircase and Art Deco interior patterning. The building is 82 feet (25 m) tall with six floors.
A library annex was added in 1978 and the Parliament Annex, Pikkuparlamentti, in 2004. A red paint protest hit the pillars on September 25, 2024. It is the seat of the Finnish Parliament. Free guided tours are on Thursdays at 11 a.m. with advance booking. Plenary viewing is Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 2 p.m., Thursdays at 4 p.m. and Fridays at 1 p.m.
