Palazzo Bianco, or the White Palace, stands at 11 via Garibaldi in central Genoa, Italy, on a street once called Strada Nuova. It is one of the Palazzi dei Rolli. Luca Grimaldi built it between 1530 and 1540. In 1658 it passed to the De Franchi Toso family, and a major restoration followed between 1714 and 1716.
In 1899 Maria Brignole Sale, Duchess of Galliera and the last member of her family, transferred the palace to municipal ownership so it could become a public gallery. Together with Palazzo Rosso and Palazzo Doria Tursi, it forms the Strada Nuova Museums.
The collection covers European painting from the 12th to 17th centuries. It includes works by Veronese, Rubens, Van Dyck, Zurbarán and Murillo, as well as Caravaggio's Ecce Homo.
