The Palacio de Cibeles in Madrid was designed by Antonio Palacios and Joaquín Otamendi, chosen in a municipal competition, for the Society of Post and Telegraph of Spain. The infobox gives only 1919, the inauguration. The text gives approval in 1905, works starting on September 12, 1907 and an official opening on March 14, 1919.

The infobox lists Eclecticism and Neo-Plateresque, and the text adds Baroque Salamanca influences and a disputed claim of early Modernismo. It covers about 323,000 square feet (30,000 m²) on former Buen Retiro gardens and used roughly 1,500 to 2,000 tonnes of iron and 7,000 cubic meters of stone. It cost 12 million pesetas, almost triple the estimate.

Alejandro de la Sota altered it in the 1960s, and it gained Bien de Interés Cultural status in 1993. Madrid City Council occupies it as city hall, and the CentroCentro cultural centre is also housed there.
