The Oude Kerk is a Gothic Protestant church in Delft's old city center. It was founded in 1246 as St. Bartholomew's Church, on the site of earlier churches up to two centuries older. The article names no single architect, though two members of the Keldermans family of master builders led a later expansion. It has a basilica layout, with a nave and two smaller aisles.
The brick tower, 246 feet (75 m) tall, was added between 1325 and 1350. Weak foundations make it lean about 6.6 feet (2 m). In the late 14th century, wider aisles turned it into a hall church, and a higher nave followed around 1425 to 1440.
Fire, iconoclasm and the 1654 gunpowder explosion damaged it. Joep Nicolas made the current stained glass in the mid-20th century, and about 400 people are entombed inside.
