Oranienbaum near Saint Petersburg includes the Grand Menshikov Palace, designed by Giovanni Maria Fontana and Gottfried Schädel and built from 1710 to 1727 for Aleksandr Menshikov, who received the grounds from Peter the Great in 1707. Antonio Rinaldi designed the Peterstadt Fortress ensemble, built from 1756 to 1762 for Grand Duke Peter Fedorovich.
The article names no style or materials, describing the palace as relatively simple, single-story apart from a small central pavilion, in ochre and yellow tones. The infobox gives only UNESCO dates, with a site area of 757 hectares (1,870 acres).
Menshikov was later deposed and died in exile, and Oranienbaum became a summer residence in 1743. It suffered less damage in World War II than other suburbs, but the ensemble then fell into disrepair, and serious restoration began in the late 1990s. It was inscribed by UNESCO in 1990. The article gives no hours.
